 Şerife Luta with her 6-month-old daughter Besjana in her arms. During the painful and tiring hour-long march, the little girl no longer seemed to show signs of life, 

but her mother continued to hold her close to her lap to protect her from the biting cold.

When they arrived at the shelter she thought her daughter was dead, 

but once they were close to the warmth of the fire, the little girl recovered and began to cry. 

A cry that filled everyone present with joy.

The second photo portrays them 20 years later, near their village.

These women have become the symbol of that war.
